~*We specialize in Black English Labradors*~
Welcome to Suitor Labradors! We are a small but serious hobby breeder currently located in the small town of Congress, AZ.
Our focus and goal with our dogs at Suitor Labradors is to bring back what the English Labrador (the original lab) was intended for. A Labrador was bred to be a Water Retriever Dog, therefore its job is to be just that. It helping you as a service/therapy dog, Cadaver dog and all the other wonderful things a good balanced Lab will do for its human, is just a bonus with this amazing breed.
My point with saying that is the Labrador was originally bred to do water work and be the retriever of all the retrievers - to run out in a mucky muddy pond and bring back your bird. To break through ice and retrieve you ducks. To handle any kind of weather/working condition to do his job and thrive doing it both mentally and physically!!
Now days you see many different “types” of Labradors and many of them Will retrieve because it’s in their DNA to do so, it’s their Job. A Labrador without the right angles, the right balance, the right coat type, the right bone and the right background…they may do their job and do it well but every joint, every muscle, every bone is working against the dog. Without the right coat type, they can’t handle working in cold or icy conditions. Their coat also protects them working in the water, it keeps their skin dry and safe from the sun. Every detail about the structure of the original Labrador was bred that way for the health and comfort of the dog.
As one of most knowledgeable Labrador breeder once said:
"For HEAVENS SAKE, Let it be A LABRADOR..........
Let it LOOK like a Labrador, BEHAVE like a Labrador, FEEL like a Labrador and WORK like a Labrador."
~ Mary Roslin Williams
Words I live by with my breeding program.
Our dogs are all Champion bred, most are Champion sired from the finest Studs world wide. All of our labs bloodlines go back 4-6 generations to some of the Original kennels that helped developed this amazing breed, they are true, English bred Labradors. Health and genetic testing is not only done on our labs, but you also have a very long history for many, many years of good hips, elbows, hearts, eyes and DNA genetics. We start our puppies off right with starting the biosensor technique from 3-14 days old. We temperament test to make sure each puppy goes to the right home. Our puppies are raised inside our home with our family, both 2 legged and 4 to insure they are well rounded and ready for their new life with you.
As the breeder of Suitor Labradors, I only raise a litter of puppies when I myself am trying to pull something from my dogs for myself or I have a promising waiting list of 3+ people. I do not raise puppies just to raise puppies. I've been raising dogs since 2006 and Labradors since 2009, but I have a very strong passion for this breed and I want to bring back what it once was. This is why I have made sure I only have some of the best lines the breed has to offer. I am working to get into the show ring more for conformation. We have and will be doing more hunting with our labs - both trial and personal and we will be going down the service/therapy road with our dogs with only the best Service dog training organizations in Arizona to help others who cannot afford to buy a much needed canine to help assist them.
We only raise Labradors by the standard and only in the standard coat colors - Black, Yellow (ranging from light cream to dark fox-red) and Chocolates (from light to dark) We Do not raise or support any dilute colors or so call “rare” colors such as - Silver, charcoal, champagne, white, dudley or ANY color that’s not in standards. These colors are Flaws and go back to a different breed that got mixed into the Labradors. We thrive to better our dogs with each litter and addition we may add.
Thank you!

TESTIMONIALS
"Thought I would share a picture of Buster with you. 4 weeks now and he has grown like a weed (almost 25lbs already). Has learned a lot, house broke(mostly), sit, stays(mostly :)), and should be starting his puppy training in 2 weeks. Our daughter and son love him to death. Thank you for a great puppy and we look forward to years to come. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a great experience in getting a new lab puppy."
“Shooter (Red) is curious, independent, calm, watchful, intelligent, ect. We are astonished at how easily he has come into our household. He even sits outside the door, waiting for instructions. He sits before he get his food, plays quietly in the kennel until I invite him out after a nap, ect. We're working on come and other manners. Whatever you're doing, keep doing it. The teen years may be a challenge, but I think we will weather it, due to your good nurturing and training."
